Aqualyx (10 vials × 8 ml) is a clinically developed deoxycholic acid–based injectable used for localized fat reduction and body contour refinement under medical supervision. It is specifically designed to target small, resistant fat pockets—such as submental fullness, jowls, upper arms, or localized body contours—that do not respond to diet or exercise.
The solution works by disrupting adipocyte membranes, leading to gradual fat cell breakdown and natural elimination through the lymphatic system. Aqualyx is not intended for weight loss but for precision contouring when used according to professional protocols. Treatment usually involves multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart, with post-treatment care to minimize swelling and support optimal results. For use by trained medical practitioners only. Not for self-administration.
Alcohol consumption should be avoided for 24 hours before and after treatment. Alcohol increases vasodilation and may elevate the risk of bruising, bleeding, and delayed tissue recovery.
Deoxycholic acid (sodium deoxycholate) — the same bile acid naturally present in the human body, responsible for fat emulsification. The formulation also contains buffering and stabilizing agents to ensure biocompatibility and controlled dispersion.
Administer in small aliquots into localized fat deposits according to the treatment protocol. Multiple sessions (typically 2–4) may be required for optimal results. Intravascular injection must be strictly avoided; the procedure should be performed under aseptic conditions.
Common reactions include swelling, tenderness, firmness, or redness at the injection site. Temporary numbness, nodules, or mild bruising may occur as part of the inflammatory response and typically subside within several days. Proper aftercare and avoidance of pressure on treated areas are advised.
The active component, deoxycholic acid, acts as a detergent, disrupting adipocyte membranes and leading to irreversible fat cell lysis. The destroyed fat cells are gradually cleared through the body’s natural metabolic processes, resulting in a smoother and more defined contour.
Contraindicated during pregnancy. There are no sufficient clinical data confirming safety for pregnant patients; elective aesthetic procedures should be postponed.
Not advised while breastfeeding due to insufficient evidence on possible excretion into breast milk and infant safety. Procedures should be deferred until after breastfeeding is completed.
